Virtualgeo spun off in 1994 from an established surveying company, which is active since 1985 in the fields of topographic survey and infrastructural planning. Virtualgeo has three offices in Italy: the headquarters is in Sacile while two branches are in Venice and Terni. The Company specialization is to provide services dedicated to cultural heritage (architectural and archaeological in particular) and environmental field by using advanced technologies and software solutions. The evolution of the techniques for data acquirement and representation towards 3D digital models, drove the company, which is certain of the experience matured in traditional surveys and virtual reality, to invest the majority of its resources in research and development.

When the first Laser scanner was acquired in 2004, Virtualgeo gave birth to its Informatics Department with a specific mission: developing and trading software for managing data acquired by laser scanners (points clouds) on products of AutoDesk® family. The choice of AutoCAD® as development platform derives from the diffusion of the product in the international market. On March 2007 Virtualgeo has started to trade CloudCUBE, the first integrated solution on AutoCAD® platform for managing and 3D modelling the millions of points surveyed by laser scanner. The software integrates completely in the most used CAD work platform worldwide by specific functions developed for the technicians working in the civil works, architectural, environmental areas and, more generally, for who needs to use information surveyed by laser scanner.  In relation to all its software products VirtualGeo provides technical support, training, consulting services thanks to a highly qualified work Team as well as national and international Partners.

The success of our product has helped us to expand from a national company to a international provider of laser scanner software solutions on AutoCAD® platform.
