All processor works - CPU usage 100%Good results have been obtained with CloudCUBE 2008 and AutoCAD on multi-core processors computer in post-processing the point clouds acquired with Laser scanner.

The work which has been carried out by the CloudCUBE development Team in these months, to fully use the potentialities of the dual and multi-core processors, has succeeded in the tests on January 21st, 22nd and 23rd.

The tests have been performed on some Dual-core computers, in particular we report the test performed on a computer with two Dual-core processors.

Mesh result and Device manager form

In the previous picture you can see how all the four processors have been used in the triangulation process (CPU usage is equal to 100%).

The main data are summarized below:

  • 2 Dual Core Optheron processors 2.21 GHz
  • Number of triangulated points: 1.130.354
  • Number of generated polygons: 2.244.118
  • Computing time: 2 minutes and 2 seconds

The obtained results opens the way for a new scenario on Laser scanner data managing because the hardware market is oriented to propose new solutions based on multi-core processors.
